Minnesota: Newest Member of the Far Left
Minnesota’s 2023 legislative session was unlike any other. The Democrat-controlled House, Senate, and Governor’s office stopped at literally nothing to enact the most radical agenda this state has ever seen. It was a terrifying, record-breaking year all around: a record-breaking 75 bills passed, a record-breaking $19 billion budget surplus, and record-breaking government growth.
Democrats have completely altered the politics of this state, sending it far left. While it’s true that Republicans have not won statewide in Minnesota for several years, split party control in the House and Senate had kept the radicals at bay and forced legislators to work across the aisle. What changed this year? The DFL won their trifecta control, but only by a slim margin. They did not overwhelmingly beat Republicans. Not at all! They only won by one seat and less than 200 votes. So they are operating within a slim margin here, yet that did not seem to concern Democrats at all.
It’s a shame that Democrats completely ignored the concerns of Minnesota voters this session. It’s cruel that they would blow a $19 billion surplus while also raising taxes on families by $10 billion. At a time of rising inflation nonetheless!
