Poll: Minnesotans Disapprove of Legislature, Rightfully So
A new KSTP/Survey USA poll reveals how Minnesotans feel about the legislature’s job performance, and it’s not good. When asked about their work so far this session, only 37% of survey respondents said “excellent” or “good” and a whopping 57% rated their work as “fair” or
“poor.” Minnesotans are surely skeptical about the legislature and rightfully, so.
Legislators are largely ignoring the issues that matter most such as the economy, education, and crime. They’re also enacting laws that are downright silly and make people’s lives even more difficult, for example, raising taxes even higher, banning gas-powered equipment and tools, and creating new government bureaucracy to name a few.
By far the worst thing that legislators (Democrats) did to Minnesotans was break their key campaign promise to eliminate the tax on social security benefits. This would have saved our beloved seniors up to $1,200 a year. At a time of record-high inflation, that money could’ve really helped some folks out! But no, the Democrats did not budge. Not only did they fail on their promise, but they also turned around and raised taxes for everyone! It’s completely understandable why Minnesotans think so lowly of their legislature.
