More Money for Electric Bikes Than MN Families - DFL Logic

Democrats are giving more tax breaks to owners of electric-assisted bikes than they are to Minnesota families. You read that right!

Under the Senate transportation bill, Minnesotans can get tax credits of up to $1,500 for purchasing an e-bike as well as accessories like helmets, locks, bags, and even reflective clothing.

How does that compare to what Democrats are giving taxpayers and families? The tax bill approved in the House has a child credit of $1,175 per child and rebate checks for taxpayers (possibly) ranging from $279-$1,000. Democrats must not think highly of your children if they’re legislating more money for electric bikes!

Democrats want to give people money for their backpacks and shiny bike clothes but refuse to give back the $19 billion budget surplus or cut taxes and provide meaningful relief. The DFL’s priorities are way out of whack.
