Can You Believe The Democrats’ Hypocrisy?!
The Minnesota Senate is being rocked by scandal as DFL Senator Nicole Mitchell faces charges of felony first-degree burglary. The shocking allegations accuse Sen. Mitchell of breaking into her stepmother's home via a basement window and wearing all black in the cover of darkness. “I think she meant me physical harm. There’s no other reason to be on the floor of my room,” said Carol Mitchell, Sen. Mitchell’s stepmother. No surprise, the story that Sen. Mitchell tells is quite different from reports written by the police.
As the fallout from Sen. Mitchell's arrest reverberates through the Senate chambers, Democrats have shown their true colors by protecting one of their own at all costs. The DFL currently has a one-seat majority. Despite calls for accountability and transparency, they have allowed Sen. Mitchell to continue participating in legislative proceedings, even casting the deciding vote on a motion that would formally call for her resignation!
In a stunning display of hypocrisy, Democrats have shielded Sen. Mitchell from facing the consequences of her alleged actions, refusing to hold her to the same standard of ethical conduct that they demand of others. While they preach accountability and integrity, they turn a blind eye to the serious charges levied against one of their own. Are we even surprised?!
Senate Republicans have wasted no time in taking decisive action, filing an ethics complaint against Sen. Mitchell, bringing motions on the Senate floor for her to resign, and calling for an expedited hearing to address the matter. At Minnesota Action Network, we believe in upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and restoring public trust in our legislative process.
But we can't do it alone. We need your help to ensure that justice is served and that the integrity of Minnesota's legislative institutions is upheld. Your support will enable us to continue fighting for accountability, transparency, and the values that matter most to hardworking Minnesotans like you.
